Ⅰ.Introduction: 

JM-V Rotational Abrasion Tester determines the resistance to abrasion of coatings such as deck paint, floor paint, traffic paint, for which two loaded, freely rotatable but eccentrically arranged abrasive rubber wheels affect the coating of the rotating test specimen,and it also test abrasion resistance performance of wood decorative overlay, paper, plastic and textile fabric.

Ⅱ. Principle of Operation:

Rotational Abrasion Tester is made up two abrading wheels providing for rotary disk. When rotary disk is revolving, one abrading wheel at the left side rubs from outside to panel surface center, another abrading wheel at the right side rubs from panel surface center to outside. When rotary disk revolving one circle, abrasion mark on the panel surface overlaps, made up two “X” circles intersecting at the panel surface. Adopting this method, its advantage makes panel surface in all directions to accept abrasion, overcoming abrasion resistance meter disadvantage that is reciprocating toward one direction, the test is made more objective for abrasion evaluation.
The instrument adopts stepmotor driven so as to avoid speed’s change because of line voltage’s fluctuation, it greatly improves speed stability, the test is made more commensurable for abrasion evaluation.

Ⅳ. Operation and Maintenance:

1. Preparation working before starting operation: (figure 1)
(1) Adjust leveling position of instrument, switch locates on “off” position, then plug in. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
(2) Plug in dust catcher plug, put soft tube of dust catcher into interface of main machine dust catcher, and adjust height of dust catching suction hole (loosening nut on the back of main machine). The distance between suction hole and panel surface is 1-2mm so as to avoid ruinning panel, then tightening nut again.
(3) When installing rubber abrading wheel, loosen fixed nut of rubber abrading wheel, clean up dust on the shaft, then install reground abrading wheel according to technical condition, and tighten nut.
(4) Install required load weight on the front end of impression arm.
(5) When setting panel, loosen nut on the rotary disk, take out a washer, install a panel, put the washer on the panel, tighten nut, then slightly lay down impression arm, simultaneously lay down soft tube of dust catcher .
(6) Add a balance weight on the end of impression arm.
A weight of abrading wheel =a weight of counterweight +a weight of 20g of pin shaft
For example: a weight of 28g of a abrading wheel needs to add a weight of 8g of counterweight (a weight of pin shaft is fixed on the instrument)
2. Operation:
(1) Switch on, buzzer buzzing, showing that the instrument works normally.

(3) Liquid crystal screen enters into operation interface , showing:
“ Run Speed:  60 r/min”
“Set Cycle:           “
“Run Cycle :  0000    ”
“Frequency:  00    ” input wrong number,
Tacitly approve speed: 60r/min，if you want run speed: 70r/min, just push “speed” switch. If push this key again, run speed returns to 60r/min.
(4) Setting the number you want to run, if press function key, liquid crystal screen shows “INVALID LOADING”, you can continuously input number. (For example: If you want running under 1000 cycles, input 0 on the four digit). If you want running 500 cycles, input “0500”. If input 500, the instrument refuse to operate because of lacking of one digit. If push function key uncautiously, Liquid crystal screen will tell you “Invalid input”, Please input again. buzzer buzzing after input one digit, indicating effective input. If input wrong number, please press “reset”, numbers after “Set Cycle“ will be cancelled immediately. If input correct number, please press “Run”, the turntable starts to run at this time. Rotating one cycle, “Run Cycle” automatically add 1. When Run cycle is the same number as Set cycle, turntable automatically stop running, at this time, buzzer buzzing,  “Frequency” automatically adds one. “Run Cycle” will reset automatically. Count from 0 when starting next time. This counting method is especially suitable for more period rerun. For example: 500 cycle 15 period, “Frequency” is displaying “15”, indicating that 15 period has been run according to “Set Cycle“, it doesn’t need hand count.
(5) “Clear” , “Renew” can clear number of “Run Cycle” , “Frequency”. If press “stop” key during operation, the turntable will stop running. If press “stop” key during operation, the turntable will stop running immediately., Keep original setted number and run cycle. If you want to work continuously, you just press “Run” key, the machine will operate continuously until to the desired revolution number.
3.Caution:
a) After finishing test, it should be cut off power, clean instrument, cover it using protect cover.
b) When not using for a long time, take out rubber .
