Product Details

Ⅰ. Introduction:

C84-ⅢOpacity Reflectometer produced by our company is a special instrument developed to conduct the International and National Standards for coating materials, pigments, inks and other chemical industrial products. It is applicable to determine the reflectance and hiding power (contrast ratio) of paint films. It is in compliance with the requirement in ISO 3905, ISO 3906, GB/T 13452, GB 9270, and GB 5211. Type III USES the silicon photoelectric cell to replace old-fashioned selenium photoelectric cell, structure is more compact, indicating value is more stable.


 


 


 

 

Ⅱ. Working Principle:

It consists of probe, main instrument, standard panels (black and white color for each), working ceramic panels (black and white color each two) etc. The probe is using 0° irradiation 45° receiving principle. During measuring, the reflect light beam from the specimen will react to the surface of silicon photoelectric cell, and a telegraphic dispatch will be produced from the surface and transmits to the DC amplified, then amplified, then digital display occur (for more details see light path principle sketch).
Indicating value is proportional to reflective light intensity of measured surface.

Ⅳ. Operating Method:

1. Connecting probe to electronic control box, connect to power. Preheat for 3 minutes before using. It is best for putting the probe on the black standard panel. When connecting, make notch on the plug right to bulge on the socket of electronic controller. Plug should be held when pulling out, pull back metal slip lid on the plug, then pull out plug, wire should not be pulled directly.
2. Zero correction:
After placing the probe on the black standard panel, adjust "Zero" knob of main machine until it displays 00.0.
3. Calibrating standard value:
Put the probe on the white standard panel, adjust “full” knob of main machine, make the displaying value of main machine consistent with calibrated value of white standard panel. ±0.1 variety is allowed. Repeatedly adjust (zero and full) at a time.
4. Measurement of RB value:
     Place the probe to the black working ceramic panel on which the specimen has been put, the numerical reading is the value of RB.
5. Measurement of RW value:
     Place the probe to the white working ceramic panel on which the specimen has been put, the numerical reading is the value of RW.
6. Calculate the value of contrast ratio RB/RW.

   Note:
1. In order to ensure measurement precision, testing environment temperature should be close to 25°. The instrument should be calibrated frequently.
2.Always put the probe on the black standard panel during the test interval to avoid the illuminated fatigue phenomenon of selenium photoelectric cell. Don’t pull out plug after finishing test so as to avoid damaging plug and cause poor contact.
3. Standard white plate should be far away from pollution, otherwise it will affect the reading.
4. If there is any stain on the standard white plate, erase it by senior drawing eraser.
5.Preparation of sample should be done strictly according to relevant National Standard Stipulation.
 

Ⅴ. Maintenance & Trouble Shooting Guide:

1. Maintenance
The instrument adopts high-sensitivity photoelectric converter. When using, make sure that illumination part and circuit part are not influenced by environment. Dust or moisture sucked on the probe will influence readings. Clean it using lens tissue. Black and White standard panels should be cleaned every time before using. If corrosive gas in the environment, it might damage optoelectronic components of instrument.
When not using probe, it is better to be stored in a dry jar.

Reflectometer is a special instrument when the trouble can not be shot, it should be handled by professional and contact with manufacturer. It should not be dismounted arbitrarily.
3.Instruments should be regularly detected to ensure the accuracy (recommended once a year).
